Facebook has started rolling out a “DeepFace” recognition feature which uses technology designed by an Israeli start up called Face.com
The Creators of DeepFace claim the new feature can identify a single face out of a crowd with 97.25% accuracy.
Facebook has implemented the addition in the knowledge of the tedium in tagging each individual uploaded photo to a user’s various galleries.
American Facebook users have reported getting access to the feature this week. Elsewhere, users who have access to the feature but want to disable it can go to their Facebook Settings menu and change the options.
Facebook said it does not have an official comment about the technology or rollout plans.
