Verify Your Facebook Business Page!

Verify Your Facebook Business Page!

Have you ever noticed the little blue or white tick next to the name on some of the pages you follow?

When a page has a blue or white tick it means they are genuine! i.e. Verified by Facebook as a person/company and not a fan site or someone copying them.

Originally only for celebrities, organisations, sports teams & media, Facebook is now allowing you to verify most pages - If you're eligible, you are now able to get a white tick added to your Facebook page.

Why get verified? Here are the main two reasons:
 - Your local business can have multiple Facebook pages (linked to people checking in). Becoming verified will help people find the genuine page - the page you update.
 - Verified pages will show up higher in search results on Facebook. This reason alone should be enough for you to get verified!

Let’s get your page verified:

Step 1 - Go to your Facebook business page. On the top right side of the page and click on “settings”.

Step 2 - To find out if your page is eligible to be verified, you should see “page verification” listed in the menu. Normally it’s the third one down in the list. Select ‘edit’ on the right hand side and then click on “verify this page”.

Step 3 - Enter your phone number (including any extension numbers) and click on the “call me now” button. A new box will appear asking for a verification code.

Within seconds, an automated system will call you and give you a 4-digit code for you to enter. Input the number and you will get a white verification tick on your page.

If you don’t want to use your phone number to verify your page you can do it by uploading a document. To do this click on the “verify this page with documents instead” link to the left of the “call me now” button.

Facebook will require either:
A business utility or phone bill
A business licence
A business tax file
A certificate of formation
Articles of incorporation

Once they have received the documentation and confirmed your business exists then you will receive your white tick.
